Andreasyan Brothers' Studio and TNT to Produce New Film Adaptation of Pushkin’s 'The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Bogatyrs'

The film company run by the Andreasyan brothers is preparing a new screen adaptation of Alexander Pushkin’s poetic tale "The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Bogatyrs." Production is due to begin in the near future, and the project will be made with the participation of the TNT television channel.

Sarik Andreasyan will direct the picture. He previously worked on a film adaptation of Pushkin’s "The Tale of Tsar Saltan," and this new project continues the studio’s recent focus on bringing classic Pushkin works to the big screen.

TNT executive Tina Kandelaki noted that the studio’s recent releases, including its adaptations of "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" and the family title "Prostokvashino," delivered strong box-office results, each reportedly grossing more than 2 billion rubles. The company hopes the upcoming Pushkin adaptation will achieve similar commercial success.

The announcement positions the new film as part of a broader industry trend of investing in adaptations of well-known literary classics, where name recognition and family appeal are seen as reliable drivers of ticket sales. The production timetable and casting details have not yet been disclosed.
