Netflix has announced new promotional material for the upcoming anime series Baki-dou: The Invincible Samurai and revealed its premiere date. The streaming service shared the news on its social media channels alongside a poster for the show.
The series is scheduled to debut on 26 February 2026. Netflix confirmed the date as part of its promotional rollout and provided visual artwork to accompany the announcement.
Baki-dou: The Invincible Samurai is an adaptation of the manga of the same name and serves as a continuation of the Baki anime franchise, following the events of the series Baki and Baki: Son of Ogre. The story centers on Baki Hanma, a fighter who repeatedly seeks to overcome his brutal father, widely regarded as the strongest combatant in the world.
In the new installment, Baki contends with the aftermath of his victory over Ogre, including a restless boredom brought on by a lack of worthy opponents. The narrative suggests that new challenges will soon arise to pull him out of that stagnation.
The earlier anime Baki: Son of Ogre premiered in 2021. That series received scores from viewers on popular platforms, including a 6.8 out of 10 on IMDb and a 7.2 out of 10 on Kinopoisk.
Netflix confirmed that Baki-dou: The Invincible Samurai will comprise 13 episodes. The show is set to premiere on 26 February 2026, when the new season will become available to viewers.
