Counter-Strike 2: February 24 patch fixes performance, inventory and visual issues
Valve releases February 24 Counter-Strike 2 update addressing performance on Windows 10, inventory deletion bug, AMD GPU artifacts and map texture problems

On the night of February 24, the Counter-Strike 2 development team rolled out a new update that corrects several bugs and performance problems. The patch notes were posted on the game’s official site and summarize a number of fixes aimed at stabilizing gameplay and visuals for affected players.

One of the principal changes fixes a performance issue that primarily impacted users running Windows 10 on newer Intel processors. Players who experienced unexpected slowdowns or degraded framerate on that configuration should see improvements after installing the update.

The update also resolves a bug that prevented the inventory item deletion button from working. With the fix in place, players can once again remove items from their inventories as intended.

A graphical issue that produced visual artifacts when aiming for owners of AMD graphics cards was corrected. This change should eliminate the distracting artifacts that appeared for some AMD GPU users while aiming down sights.

Developers expanded the list of console variables that are permitted to be modified by add-ons, giving server and mod creators a broader set of options to configure behavior without running into restrictions.

On the Overpass map the textures of the decorative balls were repaired to address visual inconsistencies that had been reported.

Earlier in the month, on February 5, Valve released another patch that addressed a different performance-related bug in Counter-Strike 2 and adjusted collision models on the Anubis map. Both updates are part of the studio’s ongoing effort to tweak performance and polish map geometry and visuals.
