The Jackass franchise is preparing a return to the big screen with a new full-length feature film. Co-creator and star Johnny Knoxville announced the project on his social media, revealing a premiere date of June 26 but offering no further production or casting details at this time.
Knoxville said he will provide additional information later, and suggested that the team behind Jackass is once again assembling the familiar mix of extreme and risky stunts that have defined the series. No specifics about the film’s content, collaborators, or distribution have been disclosed yet.
Jackass began as a television show on MTV in 2000 and transitioned to film with a movie adaptation released in 2002. Since then the franchise has grown to include four main theatrical films, several spin-offs under the Jackass Presents label, and a separate comedy feature called Bad Grandpa, which also starred Knoxville.
The most recent entry in the main series, Jackass Forever, was released in 2022 and delivered solid box office results. Altogether, the principal films in the franchise have grossed more than $416 million worldwide.
