My Winter Car — a winter-set sequel to My Summer Car arrives on Steam Early Access and attracts tens of thousands of players

My Winter Car, the direct sequel to the cult automotive simulator My Summer Car, has appeared on Steam in Early Access. The new title from Amistech Games keeps the core spirit of the original but transplants it into a harsh Finnish winter, increasing the overall difficulty and environmental challenge for players.

As in the predecessor, a central part of the experience is vehicle maintenance and construction: players buy, assemble and service an old car assembled from nearly 200 individual parts. Beyond the mechanical work, the game requires managing money and making choices about how the vehicle will be configured — a regular daily driver, a rally-ready machine or a track-focused sports car — with corresponding changes in performance and upkeep.

My Winter Car adds survival elements to the formula. The game simulates the character’s body temperature, and exposure to cold can have lethal consequences if not properly managed. These survival systems, combined with the already complex mechanical simulation, make the title notably tougher than its predecessor.

Developers emphasize that My Winter Car is primarily aimed at players who are already familiar with My Summer Car; they do not recommend starting the series with this installment due to its steep learning curve and higher difficulty level.

At the time the information was recorded, My Winter Car held a 97% positive rating on Steam based on around 1,000 user reviews. According to third‑party tracking data, the game reached a peak concurrent player count of 21,000 within a day of its Early Access launch. In the Russian Steam region the price is set at ₽550. The release does not include a Russian localization.

The Early Access launch means the game is still under active development and subject to change; the current build offers the main systems and a demanding winter atmosphere that expands on the mechanical simulation fans of the original enjoyed.
