PGL announces schedule of major Counter-Strike 2 LAN events for 2027–2028 and outlines funding and player support

Tournament organizer PGL has published its schedule for the main Counter-Strike 2 LAN championships planned for the 2027–2028 cycle. The announcement, made on the company’s official channels, outlines the scope and financial commitments for the upcoming seasons and sets expectations for teams, players and fans alike.

PGL confirmed it will stage at least twelve significant offline events across the two-year period. To support the competitive ecosystem, the operator pledged an annual pool of $11 million. That sum is divided into three parts: $6 million to be distributed among clubs based on competitive results, $2.2 million allocated as bonuses tied to acceptance of tournament invitations according to the VRS ranking, and $2.8 million reserved as rewards related to viewership metrics.

Beyond prize and bonus distribution, PGL pledged to ensure comfortable and professional conditions for tier‑1 participants. The company said it will cover travel costs for esports athletes, provide accommodation at four‑star hotels, supply top‑quality equipment and devices at venues, and design match schedules with player convenience in mind.

Earlier reports indicated that PGL has secured rights to host CS2 tournaments in Cluj‑Napoca through 2029, a long‑term arrangement intended to anchor part of the competitive calendar in a single city and provide continuity for that stage of events.

The operator’s commitments aim to increase stability in the CS2 tournament scene: predictable funding and player‑friendly logistics should help clubs plan their seasons, incentivize attendance at invited events, and encourage higher viewer engagement through the dedicated rewards. Teams and stakeholders will be watching how the announced distribution mechanisms and hosting standards play out when the events commence.
