Team Spirit's donk on Train removal and Anubis return
Danil "donk" Kryshkovets calls removing Train 'strange' but welcomes Anubis replacing it in CS2 competitive map pool

Danil "donk" Kryshkovets, a contender for the title of CS2's best player in 2025 and a member of Team Spirit, commented on the recent changes to the official competitive map pool. He described Valve's decision to remove Train as odd, but said he was glad to see Anubis make a comeback. His remarks were shared by a community Telegram channel.

"I think Anubis is better than Train. Train wasn't a particularly enjoyable map, but the move is strange — removing a map everyone was only just starting to get used to. Still, it's fine," donk said in his assessment of the swap.

On January 10, Valve announced that Anubis will replace Train in the competitive map pool with the start of the fourth season of the Premier circuit. The exact date when the swap will take effect has not been confirmed; the third season is scheduled to conclude on January 19.

Train was introduced to CS2 in January 2025 and remained in the pool for roughly half a year. During that period Team Spirit played ten matches on the map and won eight of them. At the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, donk's team defeated Team Liquid on Train but later lost to MOUZ, illustrating mixed outcomes for the squad on that layout.
