Running With Scissors unveils Flesh & Wire — a new first-person shooter with a vengeful heroine and a surprising development backstory

Independent studio Running With Scissors has announced Flesh & Wire, a new first-person shooter from the developer best known for the Postal series. The project continues the studio’s tradition of confrontational, adult-aimed themes and returns a previously shelved concept to public view.

The game’s central character is a woman named Angel. Her story is driven by a desire for revenge after a brutal murder upends her life; determined and relentless, she sets out to eliminate anyone who stands between her and vengeance.

Flesh & Wire is not entirely new: work on the title first began in 1999, but the original project was ultimately canceled. At that time, Running With Scissors shifted its efforts toward creating the first Postal game, which went on to define the studio’s profile.

In its original incarnation Flesh & Wire featured a different protagonist and premise. The earlier concept focused on a police officer named Agnus who uncovers that the city has been taken over by an extraterrestrial race, a narrative direction markedly different from the current revenge-driven storyline.

Running With Scissors has shared these background details as part of the announcement, but further specifics about gameplay, platforms and release timing have not been provided.
